DTEA Students win awards for best out of waste models

Students make best from waste during Green Circle- Delhi teachers University 

Dwarka Based NGO, Green Circle in collaboration with Delhi Teachers University New Delhi supported by MEA DTEA Alumni Association Banyan and Dwarka Express organised the BEST OUT OF WASTE exhibition cum competition for DTEA Schools. The exhibition witnessed 50 select students displaying their best creative models which attracted every participant who participated from various educational institutions all over Delhi. The exhibition was organised as part of the conference on Sustainable Development under the aeges of Delhi Teachers University. The students fro Janakpuri, Pusa Road, Lodi Estate, Mandir Marg, Moti bagh, Laxmi Bai Nagar and R K Poram displayed their models. Unique Models on the basis of utility, creativity, waste utilised and novelty were awarded. The prizes were distributed by Chief Guest Prof. Pankaj Arora, Head & Dean, CIE,  Education Department, Delhi University. Tarun Raj of DTEA Lodi Estate bagged the first prize while Miyanjali of DTEA Janakpuri secured the second prize.J Gauthaman of DTEA Laxmibhainagar won the third prize. Three Consolation Prizes were given to Priti Kisku of DTEA RK Puram School,Pulkit of DTEA Pusa road and Nutan Kumari of DTEA Janakpuri. The jury members were Romilla Gandhi Abha Gupta, Chitra Jain and Jaya Selvarajan, all senior educationalists and farmer teachers.. The chief guest during his inaugural address lauded the efforts of students saying that the exhibition was an eyeopener for all who work in the field of environmental education. The screening and shortlisting of entries was done by Raj Agnihotri and Anurag Mohan. Certificates were given to all 50 shortlisted candidates. Green Circle Dwarka members RP Kesn, A K Saigal and Vishal Lall and Secretary of Banyan, DTEA Alumni Association Sukumar managed the event. Prof Dhananjay Joshi, Vice Chancellor of Delhi Teachers University said ' the joint efforts of the volunters of the DTU and Green Circle along with Banyan DTEA and Dwarka Express were commendable. The University wants to replicate such events in future in larger scales"
