Abhishek Dubey is the new SHO of Sec-9 police station. He joined on 18th May this year. Abhishek has done M.Sc. from Mathura University. He is also an MBA. Before joining PS Dwarka South, he was SHO Outer (North). He was also a part of special staff at Samaypur Badli PS. He talked to Dwarka Express and expressed his vision.

Q1 : How are you finding your new posting in Dwarka?

 A: Here in Dwarka, there are challenges of different kinds. The residents of Dwarka are educated and upper middle class. Crimes reported here are generally perpetrated by people residing outside Dwarka. Thefts are rare, but road crimes like chain snatching and carjacking are reported. Besides, we have to deal and settle the arguments of MCs of RWAs.

Q2 : What steps are you taking to control crime in Dwarka?

A : Lot of incidents of chain snatchings are reported. We are spreading awareness and advising ladies not to wear gold chains. Even if they wear it, cover it with dupatta, or tuck it inside Tshirts. They should not use mobile phones while walking. Before keeping a tenant or a maid, get antecedent verification done beforehand. If there is any doubt, immediately contact the police.

Q3 : There is rampant encroachment in Dwarka. How will you deal with this?

A: There are many vendors on Dwarka roads that are not verified. We know they are a security threat. We are working together with MCD to remove illegal vendors and allow only a few verified vendors.

Q4: How will you instill a sense of security amongst the public?

A: I plan to organise and attend police-public meetings with RWAs and MWAs. I am also connected with people with Whatsapp group. Senior citizens will also be looked after well and we see that they are safe and secure. Anyone can meet me anytime in my office.

Q5: Any message to the people of Dwarka?.

A: I request all the residents of Dwarka to become the eyes and ears of the police. In case of any suspicious people, you must immediately inform the police, we are there to help you to keep you safe and secure.
